TAG Heuer Service Cost UK 2026: What You'll Actually Pay

TAG Heuer Aquaracer chronograph beside a removed bezel on the bench at SwissMade

TL;DR: A TAG Heuer full service at SwissMade starts from £175, with basic maintenance from £90. TAG Heuer’s own published UK prices for a complete service run from £270 for a quartz watch to £600 for an in-house or COSC movement. As an Official UK TAG Heuer Service Centre we use genuine parts, give a 2-year warranty, and return your watch in 8 to 12 weeks.

TAG Heuer publishes a UK price list, which is helpful, but it sorts watches into six groups and the difference between the cheapest and the dearest is more than £1,000.

So the first job is working out which group your watch is in. The second is deciding whether to send it to TAG Heuer or to an accredited independent. This guide covers both.

TAG Heuer service pricing at SwissMade

Every TAG Heuer repair starts with a free diagnosis from our TAG Heuer-certified watchmakers. You get a written estimate before any work begins.

ServicePrice fromWarrantyTurnaround
TAG Heuer full service£1752 years8 to 12 weeks
TAG Heuer basic maintenance£901 year3 to 5 weeks
TAG Heuer restorationEstimate2 yearsVaries

These are starting prices. A quartz Formula 1 or Aquaracer sits at the bottom of the range. A Carrera with the in-house Heuer 02 chronograph movement has far more to strip, clean and regulate, so it costs more. Vintage Heuer pieces are quoted after inspection.

We no longer offer a battery-only change on TAG Heuer. As an accredited centre, a quartz TAG goes through basic maintenance, which fits the new battery along with every seal and gasket and checks the movement on a quartz analyser. That is also what TAG Heuer’s own partial maintenance includes.

What TAG Heuer charges direct

TAG Heuer’s UK price list (March 2026, including VAT) sorts watches by movement:

GroupWatchesPartial maintenanceComplete service
1Quartz watches£82£270
2Quartz chronographs and Solargraph£85£355
3Mechanical watches£120£410
4Mechanical chronographs£120£495
5In-house and COSC movements (Heuer 01, Heuer 02, Calibre 1887, TH20, TH30, TH31, Calibre 36)£120£600
6Haute Horlogerie£550£1,420

Case and bracelet refinishing is £75 extra on a partial maintenance and included in a complete service. Models over 20 years old carry a “neo-vintage” supplement of £140. Vintage Heuer watches made before 1985 go to Switzerland and start at £645 for a quartz and £1,365 for a mechanical complete service.

TAG Heuer gives a 24-month warranty on the work, as do we. Diagnosis and estimate are free at both.

SwissMade or TAG Heuer direct?

The work is the same. We hold TAG Heuer accreditation, use genuine TAG Heuer parts and follow the brand’s service procedures. The differences are price, time and who you speak to.

For a partial maintenance the two routes cost about the same. For a full service on a mechanical TAG Heuer, which is where the money is, the gap is £200 or more in favour of an accredited independent, for the same parts and the same accreditation.

If your TAG Heuer is still within its manufacturer warranty, a service at any accredited centre, including ours, keeps that warranty intact.

What a TAG Heuer full service includes

A full service is a complete overhaul of the movement and the case.

Movement. The movement comes out of the case and is fully disassembled. Every component is ultrasonically cleaned and inspected under magnification. Worn parts are replaced with genuine TAG Heuer parts, the movement is reassembled with the correct lubricants and regulated to the brand’s tolerances. On a chronograph this includes the clutch, the heart-pieces and the reset hammers, which is why chronographs cost more.

Case and bracelet. The case and bracelet are cleaned and refinished to restore the original brushed and polished surfaces. Every gasket is replaced and the watch is pressure tested to its rated depth, which matters on an Aquaracer that is actually used in the water.

Final checks. Timing is measured in several positions over a number of days before the watch comes back to you.

What changes the price

Movement type. This is the biggest factor, and TAG Heuer’s own groups show it. A quartz Formula 1 costs a fraction of a Carrera Heuer 02 to service. Between them sit the ETA and Sellita based automatics in the Aquaracer, Carrera Calibre 5 and Link ranges.

Chronograph or not. A Calibre 16 (based on the Valjoux 7750) or a Heuer 02 has roughly twice the parts of a three-hand automatic. Every one of them is cleaned and checked.

Age and condition. A watch serviced on schedule usually comes in at the base price. A Monaco or Carrera that has not been opened in a decade tends to need more: hardened gaskets, a dried mainspring, worn chronograph components. These are found at diagnosis and quoted before we start.

Parts beyond the service kit. A scratched sapphire crystal, a worn bezel insert, a damaged pusher or a stretched bracelet are quoted separately.

Vintage Heuer. Pre-1985 Heuer pieces, Autavias, Carreras and Monacos with the Calibre 11 and 12, are a specialism. Parts are scarce and the value of the watch rests on originality, so we quote after inspection and preserve the original dial and hands. Our vintage restoration page explains the approach.

Keeping the cost down

Service on time. TAG Heuer suggests a full service roughly every four to six years for mechanical models. A £175 service on a healthy movement is much cheaper than a rebuild on one that has run dry.

Use basic maintenance between full services. For a quartz TAG Heuer, basic maintenance from £90 every two to three years keeps the seals fresh and stops a dead battery leaking into the movement. For a mechanical watch that is running well, it is a sensible check between overhauls.

Act on the warning signs. A chronograph hand that does not reset to zero, a watch running more than a few seconds a day out, a stiff crown or condensation under the crystal all mean the movement needs attention.

Post it. Our free insured return pack covers your watch up to £25,000 in transit. Request a pack and send it from anywhere in the UK.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to service a TAG Heuer in the UK?

At SwissMade a TAG Heuer full service starts from £175 and basic maintenance from £90, with genuine parts and a 2-year warranty. TAG Heuer’s own published UK prices are £270 to £600 for a complete service depending on the movement, and £1,420 for Haute Horlogerie pieces.

How much does a TAG Heuer battery replacement cost?

TAG Heuer’s partial maintenance, which includes the battery and new gaskets, is £82 to £85 direct. At SwissMade a quartz TAG Heuer goes through basic maintenance from £90, which also includes the battery, every seal and a water resistance test. We do not fit a battery on its own, because new seals are what keep water out.

How often should a TAG Heuer be serviced?

Every four to six years for a mechanical TAG Heuer, sooner if it is running outside its tolerances or the chronograph is misbehaving. A quartz model needs a battery and seal change every two to three years.

Is SwissMade an official TAG Heuer service centre?

Yes. SwissMade is an Official UK Service Centre for TAG Heuer, with TAG Heuer-certified watchmakers and direct access to genuine parts and technical documentation. We have serviced TAG Heuer and Heuer watches from our Hatton Garden workshop since 1985.

Does a SwissMade service affect my TAG Heuer warranty?

No. Servicing at an accredited TAG Heuer centre keeps the manufacturer warranty in place. Our own 2-year warranty on the work then runs from the day your watch is returned.
